First Aka


The first aka is out of the mold and about ready for carbon.  I have reset the jig blocks and am starting to glue up the second one.

    Did you make the entire aka with a solid core? Or just the ends?

    Wayne,

    The windward and leeward ends are solid where they will join the hulls. The rest of the beam is a hollow box that is basically a core to support 6 or so layers per side of carbon fiber using pultrusion or 17 layers using regular uni.
